About Us
Located in Asheville, NC, the French Broad River Garden Club Foundation was chartered in 1927 and admitted to the Garden Club of America in 1930. The Club is committed to promoting the conservation, development, and intelligent use of natural resources in North Carolina and beyond. Our members are passionate about gardening and its role in promoting healthy living and sustainable environments.
The Foundation awards annual scholarships to deserving students as well as grants to non-profit organizations conducting work that aligns with our mission.

To encourage enjoyment of gardening, support environmental and horticultural education and practices, and promote conservation and sustainable use of natural resources.
Our History
The French Broad River Garden Club was chartered in 1927. The French Broad River Garden Club was admitted to the Garden Club of America in 1930. The French Broad River Garden Club, Inc. was chartered in 1957. In 1989, The French Broad River Garden Club, Inc. merged into The French Broad River Garden Club Foundation, Inc. It continues to be a member of the Garden Club of America as The French Broad River Garden Club Foundation, Inc.
