Scholarships & Grants

The French Broad River Garden Club Foundation is dedicated to advancing conservation and environmental stewardship in Western North Carolina. We are proud to support regional academic institutions, student scholars, and community organizations through scholarships and grants that align with our mission.

Funding for these awards is made possible through proceeds from our Annual Winter Greens Market and Spring Plant Sale. Applications are accepted annually and are due by May 1, with application materials available on our website.  Awards are granted to applicants who demonstrate a strong commitment to environmental and horticultural education, with particular emphasis on conservation and the responsible use of North Carolina’s natural resources. Grant and scholarship awards typically range from $500 to $5,000.  Recipients are invited to present their work to the Garden Club, sharing progress, outcomes, and research findings with our members as part of our ongoing commitment to education and community engagement.
