Floral Design
We sponsor programs and conduct workshops in floral design, some of which are open to the public.
The purpose of the French Broad River Garden Club Foundation’s Floral Design Committee is to encourage, educate and champion our members to participate in floral design and botanical arts, including entering national flower shows. We sponsor programs and conduct workshops in floral design, some of which are open to the public. Many of our members are judges, a certification process that requires the completion of coursework in the elements of good design and principles of judging, the accumulation of exhibition credits via practical, hands-on experiences, and continuing education in the field. Several of our members also participate in botanical arts competitions, where dried plant materials are used in creative ways to make items such as jewelry, wallets, keepsake boxes, fashion accessories, and plant/animal forms.
